Arrowhead and Burg Apparel Top-Shelf Sponsors
Spartanburg’s first-ever Cocktail Masters took place Friday, August 4, 2023, at the 1881 Event Hall, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. With over 15 local bars/restaurants, attendees got to see who has the mixology expertise to make the best cocktail in Spartanburg. With fun for the whole family, including a corresponding mocktail competition, Cocktail Masters is a drink-tasting event featuring live music, local vendors, games, and food!
Our team at Arrowhead and Burg Apparel were so happy to have been a part of making this event happen as Top-Shelf Sponsors and founding team members – we had a Burg Apparel vendor table for attendees to browse as they tasted the competing cocktails, our photographer present to document the event, our brand manager acting as one of 8 judges for the cocktails, and our owner Lanie Carter was part of the founding team of 3. With around 400 attendees and a total donation amount of $3,250 for Hubitality, a local non-profit supporting hospitality employees in Spartanburg, the inaugural event was an overwhelming success. And the first Spartanburg Cocktail Master was named – Southside Smokehouse in Landrum, located in the northern part of Spartanburg County!
With their cocktail “Captain Cucumber’s Kentucky Garden Party,” Southside Smokehouse won over the tastebuds of the judges. Alongwith their tasty cocktail, they added to their flavor with a handmade table display, custom additions, local ingredients, and their overall professionalism.
Robert Hall, their featured bartender, has been with Southside Smokehouse since it’s opening in 2003, and has grown with it, committing himself to learning mixology and crafting unique syrups and mixes – including his very own specialized bitters. He loves utilizing local fresh ingredients in whipping up distinct and decadent beverages.
The other contestants were recognized for their tasty contributions, too! The runner-up Cocktail Winner was Willy Taco with their Smokin’ Fuzz Buzz. The Mocktail Master recognition was awared to Main Street Pub in Downtown Spartanburg, and the runner-up was the well-loved Cribbs Kitchen.
If you attended or participated in the event, we can’t thank you enough, and we will see you at next year’s Spartanburg Cocktail Masters!
No Pressure! Let’s see if we’re a fit.
